The Town of East Hampton has an area of 70 square miles of which 25 square miles is land. The Town of East Hampton sign code applies to the following unincorporated hamlets known as: Amagansett, Montauk, Napeague, Springs, Wainscott.

  • Construction, jobsite, and real estate signs may be up to 6 square feet, double sided and do not require a sign permit as long as they are temporary and removed within 2 weeks of the end of a project.

  • To obtain a sign permit in the Town of East Hampton, the following paperwork is required, and the lead time is approximately 45 days from application submission to issuance.
